Tribal Community Resilience Liaisons

The Tribal Community Resilience Liaisons are a multi-regional support network to assist Tribes in addressing science-based needs available to them at Department of the Interior's Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CASC) for improved climate adaptation planning efforts. The Liaisons are stationed throughout Indian Country and help respond to diverse challenges Tribal communities are facing by serving as extension agents, facilitating research, and coordinating forums and exchanges. ICRN works closely with the Liaisons to achieve our shared goals of supporting Indigenous climate resilience.

ITEP Caring for Our Relatives Program

The Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals’ (ITEP) Caring for Our Relatives program offers comprehensive Technical Assistance (TA) to support Tribes in moving from climate change adaptation planning to implementation. The program provides direct, ongoing support for ecological resilience projects, helping Tribes address challenges like project scoping, funding, and grant writing. TA is available to Federally-recognized, Unrecognized, State-Recognized Tribes, and Alaska Native Villages, and lasts from several weeks to 6+ months. Services are free, and ITEP tailors its assistance to meet the specific needs of each Tribe, ensuring a collaborative approach to building climate resilience.

Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Centers (EJ TCTACs) Program

The EJ TCTACs provide training and other assistance to build capacity for navigating federal grant application systems, writing strong grant proposals, and effectively managing grant funding. The program is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.

EPN Capacity-Building Technical Assistance Program

The Capacity-Building Technical Assistance Program provides assistance to communities, NGOs, and state, local, and tribal agencies disproportionately impacted by environmental and health issues. EPN assists organizations to more effectively and meaningfully participate in government decision-making by helping them navigate the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, potential grants, regulatory processes, federal policies, and publicly available data to support their work.

Initiative for Resilient Great Lakes Coasts

The Initiative for Resilient Great Lakes Coasts is a joint project between the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). MPCA Climate Technical Assistance Program

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency provides technical assistance to communities to support them in advancing the vision of Minnesota’s Climate Action Framework for the state to be carbon-neutral, resilient, and equitable.
