Federally Recognized Tribes in the Midwest and Eastern Regions. Last updated Dec. 2017
This list of federally recognized Tribes is meant to serve as an informal means for learning more about Tribal communities that fall within the DOI Northeast Climate Science Center defined region.  Each tribe is listed with their natural resource department's contact information. If there are any inaccuracies, out of date references, or if there are more appropriate contacts to include please e-mail shiftingseasons@menominee.edu. We hope over time to improve this list and map to include Indigenous peoples beyond just those who are federally-recognized.
