Wild rice (manoomin) research symposium

APRIL 14-15, 2020

Hosted by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and the Michigan Wild Rice Initiative, this event brings together researchers, scientists, and practitioners across the Great Lakes Region to examine and discuss case studies and research related to wild rice. 

The symposium organization committee is currently seeking abstract proposals for presentations and posters. Presentations will be organized into categories, and speakers will be scheduled for 15-30 minute time blocks per presentation. Current categories include: restoration, growing conditions, genetics, stressors, habitat, ecological relationships, invasive species relationships, and monitoring. ​

Proposals are to be submitted by March 18, 2020 to asmart@lrboi-nsn.gov, and must include:
  • Title, authors & affiliations, 250 word abstract, poster or presentation preference, length of presentation preferred, and main presenter contact information
